About Bobby Breaux: |
Originally from New Orleans, Bobby Breaux has been living and working in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area since 1983. After receiving his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Loyola University in 1977, Bobby traveled throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Europe performing with Al Hirt, Mike Vax, Ellis Marsalis, and The Woody Herman Orchestra. He has also worked for entertainers such as Bob Hope, Frank Gorshin, Bobby Rydell, Gloria Loring, Brook Benton, Jim Hall, Eddie Daniels, and Joe Williams, to name a few. Bobby has also performed on jingle recording sessions for Popeye's Chicken, Great America Theme Parks, and BBC's Radio One. He has also played drums and percussion for various stage shows and musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar, Hello Dolly, and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Currently, Bobby is a member of Young and Unique featuring Bobby Young, The N'Awlins Gumbo Kings and The Janet Robertson Band. Bobby also performs with various other musical groups in the D/FW area including Randy Lee & Bottom Line, Dennis Cavalier & Texas Zydeco, The James Davis Orchestra, The Bill G. Band, The Ron Lawrence Orchestra , Janet Robertson & The Top Shelf Band, Tina Lawrence & Starcast Entertainment, sub work at Eddie V's Dallas & Fort Worth and with the C&W band, Empty Pockets. And after almost twelve years on the praise band at Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington Bobby has been doing sub work at other Metroplex churches like New World UMC, Southlake Baptist, All Saints Dallas and Stonebridge UMC. Recently he was part of a praise & worship workshop with Dana Decker at Dallas Unitarian Church.
Bobby has been teaching privately in the D/FW area since 1984. Currently, he is an instructor in the Fine Arts Academy at First Baptist Church in Keller, TX. as well as an instructor at Musical Palette in North Richland Hills, TX. Recently he has added a teaching day at Katie Parr Music Academy in Southlake, TX. and is available for private lessons at his home studio or traveling to students' homes for personalized instruction. In 1994 Bobby Breaux and his company, RJB Music, produced the The Jingle Bellies Christmas Album, a hilarious Holiday novelty recording featuring the sounds of real potbellied pigs with musical accompaniment. The "singing pigs" enjoyed tremendous mail-order success in 1994 and went into national distribution for Christmas of 1995. News stories about The Jingle Bellies appeared on CNN and Hard Copy while radio stations all across the country included it in their Holiday music rotations.
